Friday was a typical Southern California day with sunny skies, warm temperatures and traffic backed up for miles on the freeways. The atypical aspect of the afternoon was a high school senior waiting in the green room of a Los Angeles studio with his family, getting ready to tell the country what college he has decided to attend.
