Gardner talks about his season and future
The Devin Gardner-led Inkster (Mich.) Vikings got off to an 0-2 start this season after finishing runners-up in Division 3 last November. Gardner and his teammates may have righted the ship, however, after a 14-7 win over Cleveland-area powerhouse Lakewood St. Edwards on Friday.
After averaging better than 30 points per game in their first two contests, Inkster's 14-point output was below Gardner's expectations. His defense, on the other hand, had allowed more than 35 points per game in their first two contests, so to come back and hold a traditionally strong St. Edwards' offense to just seven points was a monumental turn around.
