How in the world can a school and its athletic programs be such a joke? Here's the calamity... 4 football coaches in 5 years, soon to be 5 coaches in five years! Those of you who are oblivious of this new situation brewing here, away we go... Coach Ceislik resigned 10 days before the season begins. The reason given was, wait there was no reason, he was told to be quiet and say it was personal. The reason was actually because he got zero support from a lame Athletic Director and wimp of a Principal, both of which constantly criticized Ceislik for having a speech handicap and for issues outside of the football perameter. That situation will soon be resolved and I think many will be surprised of its pending outcome, an outcome of which will shed some light on the "Dingbats" running that school. Now for today's word... Here's what going on with the new Head-Coach Scott Booth. Coach Booth has a 19 yr. old Defensive Coordinator, coach Booth takes said 19 yr. old out for pizza after a hard fought Junior Varsity victory. They hit the local Pizza Parlor where at the same time, 2 school board members are having an election shin dig for the local yocals. Coach then buys beer for 19 yr. old and is seen by school board members as well as other parents and people of the community. Wow, thats big! You would think? But not at La Sierra, where the Principal does absolutely nothing. Hey it happened, it was on the "Kids" Twitter page for gosh sakes, specifically saying, "Coach B bought us beer..." and other lovely posts regarding drinking with other kids, yes kids, because that is what he is. The "Prince" supposedly warned Booth for this issue on a different occasion as well, but nothing was said or done to punish this major infraction. Say what you will, but the school board member who witnessed this is on vacation for the next week, but I assure you this will be addressed with the school board as soon as he returns. Oh and finally, just to throw this in, they used an illegal player in their victory over Canyon Springs a few weeks back. Was the Principal aware of this? You betcha! Just for you Canyon Springs fans... No. 8 played against you. Might cost you a playoff berth... That would suck! Thank you... Goodnight now

Allsee...I see you're not in it for the kids...What motive could you possibly have for bringing this up on a message board?
Let them play...deal with the other stuff when the season is over.
As for me, I will support those who support the kids!

Why is this on this board? Is it even true? Is this an ex coach, a kid or parent of someone who does not get playing time?

If you feel this strongly about the situation there and are freely throwing La Sierra players, admin and coaches under the bus, then at least have the sack to sign your name. Otherwise, call the principal or contact a reporter who can validate your claims and let them expose any wrong doings through the proper channels. You come off as sad and sour

first paragraph is true. from what i heard the whole "beer" situation was a big misunderstanding. i dont know where you got the whole "and is seen by school board members as well as other parents and people of the community." part. and even if it was true the defensive coord. is a adult and so is booth."major infraction"? come on now. you were a kid once. mind your own business. its not like it happened on campus or durin a school function. jeez ppl. and this is the first time ive heard about a illegal player against canyon springs. truthfully i think this is some mom or dad that is pissed that craig left. its is what it is. get over it! ls is 5-1. be proud and support. blue pride.

La Sierra sounds like it is being run by idiots. This is crazy. This doesn't sound like a made-up stoy. Who is the principal and AD? Do they have any control of that school?
Posted on 10/22 7:59 AM | IP: Logged
1- The team is doing good this season because they are still running Cieslik's entire playbook! The coaches who have stayed all run his stuff and his stuff is actually great- it shows even without him there. So for anybody who wants to bash him, shut up, his offensive system is amazing and I've been saying this on this site for the past 2 years now! Even the coaches in the Press Enterprise say they are just running his stuff. Say what you want about him but the guy is an offensive genius!
2- Whoever applies for this job next year, think twice, the talent is gone after this season and the J.V.'s and freshmen suck! My son played here for 4 years and still goes to lots of the games and the program will be down next season.
3- As far as the post goes, my son says it is all true, he knows a lot of people in the program and they did play an illegal player versus Canyon Springs and they are trying to cover it up so they don't look bad again! And the kid is still out there playing on the J.V. squad now and he has no grades!

I admit when I am wrong there is a number 8 so I am wrong

I laugh at the fact that most of you have no clue what has gone on with Cieslik at that place. To think that he quit to just quit with an obviously great team that he coached since January is absurd If you get the entire story it's not what you think it is at all, and in the end the school has already asked Cieslik to come back weeks ago and he refused because he has been harrassed and degraded there by the AD and Principal for the past year, and a lot of people at LS know of it and witnessed it going on. In the end, this is probabl;y going to end up in court and will look very bad for Alvord. From what I have heard he has an attorney and a few peoples jobs are on the line there. I give him all the credit in the world for standing up for himself and not taking horrible treatment from the Ad and Principal there. Good for him. As far as the drinking stuff, it's all true, they have no football coaches on that staff at all right now and Inlandfan is right, thank God they have Cieslik's stuff, and I agree it is some good stuff. Hopefully this entire thing gets the bad people at that school out of their positions.
Posted on 10/22 8:49 AM | IP: Logged
I've heard that he has an attorney and just has to wait to meet with the school Board in closed session about the AD and Principal and then it's off to court if they don't do what should be done. I have also heard that they have violated a lot of civil rights with him and this thing is very nasty at that school. The state is also getting involved. The Principal for sure is in hot water and he should be, he's a waste of time.
That's also why the principal is trying to cover up the drinking thing and the illegal player thing because he is already in a lot of trouble.

Anyone who makes fun of a professional educator with a disability should not be in education. If the principal did make fun of Coach Cieslik's speech issue he/she should face stern consequences.

all cieslik needed to do (an outsider's opinion) was to stop kicking kids to the curb and bragging about it. i'd never call for an honest man to lose his job. as i posted previously before he quit, i wished he'd stay on and write another chapter on how to include the less conditioned in his regiment...quit?...not going to sell any dvds on quitting. how to include the kids kicked to the curb? you can sell that.
Posted on 10/22 9:45 AM | IP: Logged
Is this for real,is someone's ego a little down. Who and why would someone say such things on a site like this? If this is true has it been brought to the attention of those players, parents, or the coach being accused. I think this must be a kid playing a joke or someone with nothing else better to do than try to hurt the kids in that program. I cant believe that any adult would do this. And if so, why do they care to put it out this way if not for their own enjoyment. I would think that they don't have a kid on that team because anyone who believed the program was that horrible would not allow their kid to play there. Maybe this person needs a little love and attention for themself.
Are you telling me that the coach didn't know who the board members were and seriously bought a beer for a 19 year old in their presence. That sounds far out to me. This sounds more to me like bad rumors spreading around because someone didn't get their way, a little spoiled kid who makes up things to help get what they want.

Unmotivated players do more damage than good, even if they're on the bench with no chance of playing.
When you have two levels of dedication - one group working hard, one group not working - you get rid of the lower tier so they don't bring down the upper tier. Sometimes it's better to have 20 players working their ass off than 10 players working their ass off and 30 slacking.
Posted on 10/22 3:42 PM | IP: Logged
True. But wouldn't it be nice if all 30 could be motivated and all working their assess off? It can be done you know.
Posted on 10/22 3:59 PM | IP: Logged
No. You can't motivate everyone. Not all students care about grades, and not all football players are playing to win.
You do the best with what you have; but if you can eliminate those significantly below the median, you raise your overall quality dramatically.
Posted on 10/22 4:04 PM | IP: Logged
But where should a coach put his focus...getting rid of as many kids as possible...or lifting up as many as possible...Barile did a great job at lifting them up...Cieslik did not want to be bothered with anyone that he would have to "work with"...I mean no disrespect to the man...I just don't agree with the philosophy.
There is nothing wrong with his Xs and Os...the system he ran (and La Sierra still runs) is sound...perhaps even exemplary...but this is high school football...a coach's first responsibility should be to develop our communities boys into our communities young men.
I guarentee you Coach Booth took that job because he had the interest of the kids at heart...All the kids...The man stepped up for them when nobody else would...he put their interests ahead of his own...How many else on that campus can say the same...certainly not the man many of you are defending...meanwhile the kids have rallied around him and are having success...I guess some of you are bugged by that.
Please, if this staff is doing something that is detrimental to the kids in that program...speak up, in person to the authorities that can remedy the situation...Leave all this other crap about lawyers and job concerns for the courtrooms and boardrooms...some of us care what's happening on the field.
Some of us care about the young men of this community.
Go Eagles!

Like ive said, i was on the 07-08 team my senior year. Which was the first year craig came. First year of spring ball at least 70 kids were out there. all we did was ran a mile and did about 2 1/2 hours of drills. the second day half that number was present. Craig doesnt just look at the players he has and says ok im going to kick of all the weak off and keep the studs on the team. To prove it we had a handicapped player with a huge cyst on his knee and would hop around. this kid mad it through the whole year. if you werent apart of any of his programs you dont know whats going on so keep the critizing to yourself. Craig pushes his players to there absolute limits to prove to them that anything is possible. if you cant make it through his program you just arent motivated and love the sport. believe me there were many times were i thought to myself man all i have to do is walk away from this, nobody is keeping me here, but then you think to yourself all this will pay off.its more than just football and winning with craig. of course he kicked players off but every single one that did get kicked off where downers. they were always in groups and always taked back and always complained about running, lifting etc. I guareentee if you go to a cc or norco practice you dont hear complaining and talking back. Now for the ad and prince they should be in deep sh!t. The principal seem very nice my senior year and has always been a great insprirational guy. But once the new a.d came in last year everything went down. Whenever i would go to la sierra to watch practices Craig would alway tell me how the a.d gave him a hard time today about petty stuff. and the a.d and principal have both critized his speech with comments like 'Craig we dont have time to hear you talk" or " You dont have very good communication skills" which he actually does. i hope this does go to court..and for the beer situation like i said i thinks its just miscommunication issue and is based on hear say. and for the comment on there being no knowledge on the staff is major bs. first off you cant just go out and call his plays and think your going to win..thats enough for know. please mind any of the spell checks if any. Blue pride Good luck tomorrow night eagles

Hi I am a coach on La Sierra's football team, yes that's right a coach and I am the offensive coordinator who took over in Craigs absence yes I am using all of his stuff all that is true but what did everyone expect us to do with 10 days before season put in an entirely new offense and expect it to work? This would have been my 3rd year there with Craig and I have studied his offense every year, that's what you have to do to call the offense like he does, the offense believe it or not is pretty complex so not just anyone can come off the street and call plays I am not saying I am a great coach but I have the greatest opportunity in the world and that is to coach High School football and thank you Craig for the start at La Sierra. But believe me there are some coaches on this staff. I am not interested in all this other bull I just read what you wrote and thought I should respond. I truly believe in these kids and they are a GREAT BUNCH OF KIDS NOW LETS GO KICK SOME BUTT TOMORROW NIGHT

LET ME GUESS BECAUSE THEY ARE COVERING IT UP, WELL IF A FORMER PLAYER KNOWS OF IT THEN THEY MUST BE DOING A TERRIBLE JOB OF DOING IT. AND RAZOR GOOD TO KNOW YOU SAT BY AND WATCHED THE DRINKING INCIDENT AND DID NOTHING YA THAT'S RIGHT YOU WERE NOT THERE SO IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT ANYONE TELLS ANY OF US WE WERE NOT THERE SO JUST STICK COMMENTING ON THINGS YOU KNOW TO BE TRUE

uh...one small intsy wintsy hole in the whole "victim" card allegedly being played by cieslik... there's that whole "history" thing...you know, a "pattern" you see, this is a pattern, an m.o. it has ended this way how many times now? take over a program, kick kids to the curb, brag about it (see the website) and then quit. a wake has already been established. judging by his website, making money with public youth football has always been the goal.
maybe, just maybe after quitting this time he couldn't move on so easily.
oh, and about the stuttering...another itsy bitsy problem, he himself jokes about (again, look at his website)
last point. ceislik will have a tough time showing research that supports the training schedule he "administered" to those kids. in other words. programs usually have intensity phased in in a muscle / endurance BUILDING mindset.
hmmm, this blog by dennis pope (provides special content for the p.e.) wont sound good in court either...
..."While I interviewed Coach Cieslik, players walked by and said things like: “Thanks for not giving up on me, coach.” And: “I wouldn’t be the person I am without you, coach.”
It was all very heart-wrenching, except for the fact that Cieslik wasn’t touched by his players sentiments in the least. In fact, he was quite the opposite. He called his players “soft” and “lazy.” He said that his players quit on him after Week 6 or 7 and hadn’t much cared for their feelings since.
He said that the whole team lacked “heart and determination” and “any will to work to get better.” He went as far as to say: “I just want to get the f*ck out of here.” It was all very amusing, in it’s way. Coaches are often linguists in their team’s darkest hour. The truth is that he said nothing different than any coach in his situation..."

This is a nonissue. He's allowed to joke about it as a way of mitigating the impact of his stuttering. Legally, his superiors are not. Employment discrimination law is pretty clear in this area - if you mock someone with who stutters, it's legally about the same as mocking them for being black or gay. You can't do it without being on the wrong end of a very costly lawsuit.
As for calling his players soft and lazy after they went 6-4, it certainly looked true. They were soft and many of them could have been lazy. Sometimes coaches tell players what they want to hear. Somtimes coaches tell players what they need to hear. Sometimes coaches lie to players to motivate them, sometimes coaches just tell the truth.
I don't know any of the parties here, and my neutral 3rd party is sitting pretty firmly behind Cieslik on this one.
The real winner here? Taxpayers! Go ahead and write a big settlement check now, it's not like it's coming out of the principal's pocket.

i'm also a spectator...my biggest problems:
1. selling dvds seems to be his motivation 2. a pattern of reducing programs (by design) and then quitting

find me an article or story from each of the days cieslik was at his last 3 teams and see if you can find a pattern. after that bit of research i seriously would like your opinion. after that i'm done with the topic.

Coach Joe, nice to see you on here. My son played for you and liked playing for you guys! As for anybody else posting on here who hasn't been around the program the coaches like Joe and the kids playing know how much Cieslik has been harassed there by the principal and the new idiotic AD there. My son played there and I was well aware of how they treated Cieslik, always talking to him like he was some retard or something, just very sad and unprofessional. Also, they tried to get from what I have heard Coach carroll out there and he turned it down and the only guy left was Booth. Booth is not a football coach, he was the kickers coach for Barille. They have tried to cover up the drinking thing with the staff there because of another black eye on the administration, which by the way is really bad. The parents are hopeful with the school board elections in November, they will finally get rid of the principal this next year. I hope Alvord has some money saved up also because from what I have heard it is going to get nasty! I also have a lot of respect for Cieslik for sticking up for himself and taking a stand. There are so many people in this world who just sit there and take it from their bosses because they are scared, not Cieslik, he's always been a straight up guy and like him or not, you have to admire his integrity. And don't even start again on the quitting on the kids thing, he was with these kids for almost 3 years, believe the posts that say he had it with the harassment and comments constatly being made to him, that stuff is the true story.

I have been as close to the program as anyone on this board without being a coach. I know these kids and it pisses me off to here people say stuff like that. Also I would like to know one person that has heard the AD or Prin. make fun of his stuttering!!! All bull!!!!!

I don't know any of the parties here, and my neutral 3rd party is sitting pretty firmly behind Cieslik on this one.

yep, but just the opposite, i'm far away from the program and can still see certain things that are obvious:
1. his website's in plain view and shows his priorities...selling dvds 2. a pattern of reducing rosters, scheduling creampuffs, then quitting...A PATTERN. 3. it appears he's "lawyered up" and has a new strategy: the harassment card.

Hey Botello, you feel better about yourself? Booster Club president starting cr*p like this! Those poor kids who've worked their backsides off were just humiliated on the field by Rancho. Your son included! How can you even walk on that campus? I understand your commitment to Craig, but wow, tear apart a team like that before a big game... You know Jesse and Udi are both hurt but still laying it out there showing their hearts. I noticed you have not come back on since the initial post. You are a man with little character! Pathetic, no wonder you lost your job. Who wants loyalty like yours? All seeing what you want!
